A Delta Air lines flight was delayed at Pittsburgh International Airport on Wednesday when a thousands of bees swarm on the plane’s wing.
According to KDKA-TV the crews were getting ready to fuel the plane when the bees gathered on the wing and master beekeeper Stephen Repasky had to be called out.
Repasky says such swarms form when colonies become too large and the queen leaves half of her bees behind to find a new home. Some swarms can contain 25,000 to 30,000 bees.
i thought that was a Freaking Bats 😛
Yeah, I guess they do 🙂
That’s so funny, I looked at the picture and thought it was bats too………. great minds think alike BoKhalid 😉
Seriously tho, Q8allin – where do you find this stuff? that’s gross……. Weird place for them to attach to, the wing of a plane?! I think I’d have got off had I seen them..
Colonies allover the place, not just the plane 🙂 I would do the same and not fly from this airport.
