A former FBI official said that the FBI has developed the technology to spy on people via their Android phones, by switching on the microphones in handsets and record user’s conversations without them knowing.
The use of sophisticated technology has grown as FBI agents seek to keep up when tackling organized crime, counter-terrorism and child pornography suspects who use cutting-edge technology. According to The Wall Street Journal, the agency is investing heavily in recruiting hackers in order to improve its surveillance capabilities to catch terrorists and criminals in the act.
