New Years Celebrations Around the World

City skylines exploded in red, pink, green and blue around the nation as the clock struck midnight. Major cities, including Sydney, London, Dubai and Moscow have marked the start of 2013 with large fireworks displays.

Among the most spectacular celebrations were ones in Sydney, which centered on the harbor bridge, and Dubai, where the world’s tallest building, the Burj Khalifa, formed the centrepiece.

The World’s Most Expensive Billboard Cost $1.3 Billion

The World’s Most Expensive Billboard Cost $1.3 Billion

The world’s most expensive billboard, located in downtown Dubai, near the entrance of the Burj Khalifa, the world’s tallest building. The billboard featured a Jet Pack Man flying around the billboard in a seconds-long promotion for Skydive Dubai and Go Fast energy drink.

The seconds of flight time for the billboard in Downtown Dubai would cost a minimum of $500 per second. If the number of seconds in a month (60 seconds x 60 minutes x 24hours x 30 days = 2,592,000 seconds) is multiplied by $500, the total amounts to approximately $1.3 billion for the month-long fly time for the billboard.

It’s a huge publicity stunt that’s being blown way out of proportion, but as usual Dubai want to be the first in everything! Watch video below.
