Incredible Shot of Lightning on Earth Taken from Space

An astronaut captured an amazing photo aboard the International Space Station on December 12, 2013. The image shows a white flash of lightning amidst the yellow city lights of Kuwait and Saudi Arabia. Researchers are now using instruments aboard the space station to try and find out more about lightning and its effects.
