British Airways teamed up with Designworks to design a highly innovative electronic bag tag to speed up the passenger check-in times and to eliminate the need to print out a paper tag. The new time-saving system can cut baggage drop-off times to about 35 seconds from the 3 minutes it routinely takes now
The customers can track their luggage by holding their smartphone over the electronic tag, which automatically updates with a barcode containing their flight details and an easy-to-see view of their bag’s destination.
British Airways will soon trial the state of the art electronic bag tag that could replace the traditional paper tag.
