In honor of the toy’s 40th anniversary, Google Doodle created an interactive Rubik’s Cube on top of the search box to celebrate the invention of the magic cube.
Rubik’s Cube is a 3-D combination puzzle, invented by Hungarian sculptor and professor Ernő Rubik in 1974. In January 2009, 350 million cubes had been sold worldwide making it the world’s top-selling puzzle game.
