London-based creative duo Bompas & Parr travelled to Syracuse University in upstate New York to attempt to cook a steak using an artificial Lava. There they met with art professor Robert Wysocki and an Earth sciences professor Jeff Karson who lead the Lava Project.
The grill was placed over a specially-designed rig lined with dry ice, with a spout to catch the lava overflow, and a hazmat suit for safety precautions. Watch the cooking experiment in the video below.
