Lamborghini has unveiled its first gasoline-electric hybrid supercar concept, the Lamborghini Asterion LPI 910-4, making its world debut at the 2014 Paris Mondial de l’Automobile.
The Asterion is a conceptual car housing a plug-in hybrid power-train designed to Lamborghini objectives: The Asterion defines a solution to significantly reducing CO2 emissions through technologies available today, guaranteeing the unique Lamborghini driving feel with a smooth and reactive driveability and with superior power, including an exceptional pure electric range of 50 km.
The 5.2-liter V10 engine and seven-speed DSG from the Huracán goes up to 610 horsepower a trio of electric motors combined with a another 300 to bring a total output of 910 horsepower. The result is a 0-100 (0-62) time quoted at three seconds and a top speed of 199 miles per hour, or up to 78 mph in pure electric mode.
