Aeromobil has unveiled its latest Aeromobil 3.0 model at the Pioneers Festival in Vienna, demonstrating its flight capabilities to the public for the first time.
Last year, the company launched the Aeromobil 2.5 as the final prototype before the 3.0, which is supposed to be production ready.
The AeroMobil 3.0 comes with a folding insect-like wings and a spacecraft-cum-sportscar cockpit. It’s also comes equipped with a rotax 912 engine, and can reach a top speed of 124mph and can take-off when 90mph is reached. It only needs a grass strip of around 250 metres to take off and 50 metres to land. Its range of 430 miles and fuel consumption of 15 liters per hour is achievable because of the composite materials construction.
The AeroMobil 3.0 is now being tested in real flight conditions since October 2014. The company is not taking any orders until it is sure it can start manufacturing them to standard. Check out the flying car’s third prototype in the demo video below.
