Japanese carrier All Nippon Airways (ANA) revealed their new Boeing 787 Dreamliner jet designed to look like the iconic astromech droid R2-D2 from Star Wars.
The new design was announced at the 2015 Star Wars Celebration event in Anaheim, California. It is scheduled to fly on international routes starting this fall–just in time for the release of Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens in theaters on December 18, 2015.
This also isn’t the first time that an airline has teamed up with a major motion picture on marketing efforts. Air New Zealand, the flag carrier of New Zealand, proudly flies a Boeing 777 wrapped in graphics from The Hobbit, a tribute to a film and director both of Kiwi descent.
