Adam LeWinter and Director Jeff Orlowski filmed the largest glacier calving ever filmed at the Ilulissat Glacier in Western Greenland. The calving event lasted for 75 minutes and the glacier retreated a full 1.6 kilometers (1 mile) across a calving face 4.8 kilometers (3 miles) wide. The height of the ice is about 914.4 meters (3,000 feet), 91-122 meters (300-400 feet) above water and the rest below water.
Chasing Ice is a 2012 documentary film that won the award for Excellence in Cinematography at the 2012 Sundance Film Festival and the Best Documentary from the International Press Association. Watch the video below.
