Fairphone 2 is the second-generation modular smartphone that is more durable and easier to repair. Users will have the chance to keep their smartphone running for years, giving them the ability to upgrade and repair their phones without replacing the entire thing. Enabling owners to easily swap out older components, like the processor, battery, storage, camera, and other bits and pieces.
Fairphone 2 is equipped with a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor, Android 5.1 Lollipop onboard, 2GB of RAM and 32GB of internal memory, it sports a 5-inch capacitive touchscreen display that supports HD (720p) resolution, and offers 4G LTE support.
It offers dual-SIM support and features a 2,420 mAh battery. On the back, the handset packs an 8-megapixel camera with autofocus, LED flash and full HD (1080p) video recording.
Replacements of the components will be available through Fairphone’s website, and old ones can be returned for recycling. The Fairphone 2 smartphone will launch this Fall at a price of $590. Watch the video below.
