Review: 2013 Cadillac ATS

The 2013 Cadillac ATS luxury car was unveiled at the Safat Alghanim Automotive showroom in Alrai last Thursday. I got the chance to test drive the four cylinder model over the weekend, and now I can tell you about it.

The 2013 Cadillac ATS comes with 202 horsepower, 2.5-liter turbocharged four cylinder model, which likely to be the most fuel-efficient ATS. It also comes standard with sport suspension, 17-inch wheels, rear-wheel drive.

The interior is beautifully designed with the little details LED lights, makes you feel like you’re in some kind of a spaceship. The caramel leather car seats were grippy and firmly bolstered even around the edges. I like the secret compartment behind the climate control panel, a very convenient place to have your thing saved. You can also charge your phone with the USB port included inside the compartment.

The Standard interior features includes keyless access, push-button start, driver-reconfigurable head-up display, a seven-speaker Bose audio system, and Cadillac CUE entertainment and information system. The 8.0-inch CUE System LCD touch screen looks great and remains highly visible even when hit by direct sunlight. You can pull contact directly from a paired smartphone without having to manually enter a contact that already exists on your device. The CUE can be fully customized to driver preferences and paired to up to 10 Bluetooth enabled mobile devices such as smartphones, MP3 players and USB storage devices. Each Cadillac ATS buyer will receive a Galaxy Note 2 with their new car. AlGhanim sales consultant will help you program your smartphone to your vehicle’s CUE system before leaving the Garage.

There is a nice grip to the car, and the suspension absorbs bumps well; thanks to the new chassis and suspension systems. It’s fairly quiet inside the cabin except for the sound of the 4 four cylinder engine at full throttle is kind of annoying, which can be easily ignored after getting used to it. However, if you’re looking for more power (like me), then get the V-6 engine, that would be like music to your ears.

I am very impressed by all aspects of this car. The overall balance is excellent, a beautiful well designed tight cabin that could easily fit in with the European cars category. The ATS four cylinder car comes with a great price tag of 11,700 KD, thats 4.000 KD less than the 3.6-liter V-6 engine, the most powerful version available.
