A man in China has a new nose grown on his forehead. The 22-year-old, named Xiaolian, lost his original nose in a traffic accident last year and surgeons were unable to recover his damaged nose.
The patient underwent the unusual procedure, by taking a cartilage from his ribs, cut it into the shape of a nose, place it onto his forehead and grew new skin over it.
Surgeons say that the nose has developed well and that the transplant surgery will be carried out soon at a hospital in Fuzhou in Fujian province.
