Planet Hollywood Kuwait had its soft opening on Thursday the 24th of March. So the next day I decided to take a couple of friends with me for a treat and give it a try. We arrived at the restaurant and got seated right away which is unusual for the weekend in such a busy part of the area, probably because of the time which was around 4:30 pm. I liked the atmosphere because of the bright colors, movie memorabilia. The Design and atmosphere of the restaurant is a typical planet Hollywood theme. Our waitress was friendly and seemed experienced. She took us to our table and gave us the menu to get ready to order.
Since we were hungry, we decided to skip the appetizers and order the entrees right away. I was a bit disappointed, asked for a chicken avocado and Swiss burger only to be informed by the waitress that they didn’t have any. Some of the items on the menu were not available, guessing due to the over populated guests from the soft opening night. I order the classic cheeseburger with fries and the Holly Bowl Salad. The food arrived on time (approximately 15 minutes) and was well presented. The Salad was Good, I really liked the burger it was well done and you can really taste the quality of the meat. Judging from what I see at the table, everyone was happy with the food.
Overall, the food was good, not that special but has enough diversity to probably make most people happy, over priced maybe but no more than any other place in Kuwait. The service was satisfactory and competent. I would give the Planet Hollywood restaurant seven to eight stars out of ten.
