A German former mechanical engineer, Robert Wilhelm Gülpen has built the most expensive car model in the world. The car is a 1:8 scale replica of the Lamborghini Aventador LP 700-4 made from carbon, just like the original, and features around $2.7 million dollars worth of precious metals and stones. It took Robert 500 hours to create the car.
Gülpen’s Lamborghini model will be showcased in a bulletproof glass case equipped with electronic safeguards, at Frankfurt Auto Show. And in December it will go up for auction by Sotheby’s, in either Dubai or New York, with a starting price of $4.7 million dollars.
