Nawaf Al Safi Dominates Red Bull Kart Fight in Kuwait

Nawaf Al Safi clinched the 2012 Red Bull Kart Fight title in Kuwait which was held at the exterior parking of the 360 Mall. The event held in collaboration with the Quarter Mile Club of Kuwait and with the sponsorship of Nissan Al-Babtain proved to be action packed and entertaining as a large number of Motorsport spectators enjoyed the thrills and spills of Karting.

Al Safi scored a treble after controlling the qualifying session as he managed to get pole position. He started the race first and managed to keep his position until the end of the race, although he faced some fierce competition from Mohamed Al Jassem who managed to finish a deserved second 3.149 seconds behind. Third place went to Al Baraa Al Nafisi. Fastest lap went also to the winner who was the quickest person all day with 25.932 seconds.

Al Safi who will now represent Kuwait at the World Final on December 8 and 9 in Bologna, Italy said: “I’m extremely happy to win; I was expecting to win although the competition was tough. I managed to win Race 1, took pole position and managed to lead the final race from start to finish. I thank Red Bull for organizing a unique event and format and we them for more. I will be ready to fight for the title in Italy.

The Red Bull Kart Fight in Kuwait started on Friday November 23 as 200 amateur Kart drivers between the age of 13 and 40 participated in the qualifying day. Only 20 made it to the finals.

During the World Final, champions from 20 countries including Kuwait will show their talent in an event open to the international media as well as race fans and supporters. The World Final will take place on December 8 and 9, 2012, at the Bologna Motor Show – Italy’s most prestigious Motorsport fair.
