Alfa Romeo 4C Coming Soon

Alfa Romeo has confirmed that it will unveil its upcoming 4C sports car in this year. The 4C debuted as a concept at the 2011 Geneva Auto Show and was updated for the 2011 Frankfurt Auto Show. The final production version is expected to be unveiled either at the 2013 Detroit Auto Show in January or maybe the 2013 Geneva Auto Show in early March.

The Alfa Romeo 4C concept is powered by a 1.8-liter four-cylinder turbo charged engine located centrally in the rear of the vehicle and mated to a new automatic “Alfa TCT” twin dry clutch transmission. The engine delivers an output of 200 HP, and is capable of sprinting the car from 0 to 60 mph in just 5 seconds, while top speed goes up to 155 mph. It also comes with an extremely sophisticated suspension layout that combined with a rear-wheel drive system offers a weight distribution of 40% on the front axle and 60% on the rear axle.

Alfa executives have hinted the U.S. version of the car will sell for less than $50,000, and its expected to go on sale early 2014.
