Ivan Sentch has created an amazing full-scale 3D-printed replica of the 1961 Aston Martin DB4.
The New Zealand-based software engineer Aston fanatic has always loved classic cars, so he decided to recreate the classic Aston Martin DB4, because its too expensive to own one.
Ivan will start the long, arduous process of sanding, adding filler, prepping the exterior to a glassy sheen, and then finally applying paint. Each piece is ‘printed’, then mounted onto a wood frame and glued into place. He’s made considerable progress, with 2,500 sections printed, 72% of the work is finished.
He estimates his plastic cost for the 3D printing process at about $2,000. Even including the price of the printer. Ivan posted the replica DB4 Project on his blog,
