New ‘Second Skin’ Material Could End Wrinkles

Scientists claim to have developed a new silicone-based “second skin” material that can be applied to the skin to reduce the appearance of wrinkles, eye bags and make people appear years younger.

The team from Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Harvard Medical School the have tested their prototype product on a handful of volunteers, applying the formula to their under-eye bags, forearms and legs. According to an MIT news release, the substance is a type of XPL, or cross-linked polymer layer, that has the ability to “temporarily protect and tighten skin, and smooth wrinkles.” Watch the video below.
