Stunning Star Trails and City Lights from Space

This amazing new time-lapse video shows beautiful star trails and city lights streaking over the Earth’s surface as seen from space.

Photographer Christoph Malin from Austria created the stunning film by stacking image sequences provided by NASA from the crew at International Space Station. These “stacks” create the Star Trails, but furthermore make interesting patterns visible. For example lightning corridors within clouds, but they also show occasional satellite tracks (or Iridium Flashes) as well as meteors. Watch the video below.

Apple iPhone 5: Big Disappointment

Apple iPhone 5: Big Disappointment

Well ladies and gentlemen, the new iPhone 5 turned out exactly as rumors and leaks had predicted. To be honest I wasn’t surprised, but I am very disappointed. The sad part about all this is that If Steve Jobs was alive none of these rumors and leaks would come true, he kept everyone on the edge of their seats, eagerly awaiting the next big thing to come out. Even last night event was a disappointment. It felt hollow and unsatisfying. I tell you that!

Yes the iPhone 5 is good but nothing surprising or interesting about the device. It’s the same width as the iPhone 4, but a little bit taller.

Lets talk about the specs! The iPhone 5 is made entirely from glass and aluminium. It’s 18% thinner and lighter than the iPhone 4S. iPhone 5 new features include Apple’s A6 chip processor for fast performance and much better graphics, while being 22% smaller and claimed to be more energy efficient.

As for the camera, it comes with an 8-megapixel sensor, 5-element lens and f/2.4 aperture, complete with “Dynamic low light mode”, “precision lens alignment”, and “Sapphire crystal”. Image capture is 40% faster. Video capture on the iPhone 5 is 1080p (which is already available on the 4s), with video stabilization, face detection, and the ability to take pictures while filming. The front-facing shooter is 720p, and Facetime is finally – in some capacity – going cellular (previously Wi-Fi only).

The worst thing Apple every made is by changing the connection port on iPhone 5 from the standard 30-pin to smaller type (19-pin or 8-pin). You know what that means, you can kiss all your accessories goodbye.

Finally, most of these so called “improvements” have been in other devices for months if not years. Apparently, Apple is just playing catch up now and after the death of Steve Jobs Apple started to refine existing ideas, not creating new ones. So my advice for you people, if you have an iPhone 4s keep it and cherish it, because that could well be the last if not even the only best iPhone ever made.
