A London-based architect Julian Hakes first released his early concept images of the Mojito Shoe design concept was on design blog Dezeen. Hakes amazing success story started when he received a message from the editor of Dezeen saying that his design has gone viral’ and that he should put his name into Google.

Hakes story was was posted by Gizmodo and registered in excess of 100,000 hits and streams of comments. Over that same weekend Hakes received press enquiries from agencies right around the globe. He even received a call from the office of a well known female ex-model in New York requesting 2 pairs in her size for her show.

Since then, Hakes has been working to refine every delicate, sculptural curve and twist to make this a very light, comfortable and elegant design.

Hakes has now formed a joint venture with an international manufacturer and distributor responsible for some of the world’s top fashion footwear brands.

Julian Hakes is proud to be an approved brand for Swarovski Elements and he has also recently been awarded the Drapers award for “Best footwear designer of the year 2012″. The Mojito heels are available online for £175.00.

Electronic System Turns Human Face Into an Instrument

Japanese artist Daito Manabe works on a experimental music performance system that uses electrical sensors to either transmit music into muscular twitches or control music by facial movements.

Taking the role of programmer, designer, DJ, VJ, and composer on each of his projects, Manabe experiment with myoelectric sensors to turn people’s faces into human drum machine. Watch some of Manabe’s test projects in the video below.

Otília Erdélyi is a Hungarian designer that came up with a new innovative way to package eggs, using a small amount of material. It’s made of natural microwaved carton and consists of one piece. The eggs placed into ellipse-shaped cuts. The consumer can get the eggs by the turning of topside.
