Square Stand Turns iPads Into Cash Registers

Square Stand is a point of sale system that reinvents the idea of cash register with the help of iPad and Square’s software. The countertop device will make the payment processing experience for small businesses much easier with a simple and stylish alternative to traditional cash registers.

The Square Stand comes with integrated card reader in front and connects to hardware accessories many businesses need, like a receipt printer, kitchen printer, cash drawer, and barcode scanner. Just place and lock an iPad into the stand, secure the device to the countertop and tilt or rotate the stand to complete orders quickly.

The Square Stand is available for pr-order online for $299. It currently works only with an iPad 2 or 3, but a version for tablets with Lightning connectors will be available later this year. Watch the video below to learn more about the Square Stand.

Worlds First Mobile Phone in 1938?

This is not an April fools joke! A black and white film from 1938 shows a woman talking on a wireless device at a factory in the United States, claimed to be a time traveler, but her family says otherwise. According to Daily Mail, a YouTube user has come forward to claim that the woman in the clip is their great grandmother, and that she was really using a mobile phone, but it’s a prewar prototype developed by a communications factory in Leominster, Massachusetts.

The footage was shot more than 40 years before the first mobile phone. But the question is, why did it take all these years for this technology to get to us? Watch the video footage below.
